Re-reading what I wrote to you, it came across quite rude. I think I must 
have been very tired, but that's no excuse. Sorry about that!

Anyway, here is the ultimate solution to this, and many other bugs and 
wishlist features that have been piling up:

I just spent the last few hours porting mimms completely from C++/Qt to 
python. (It still uses libmms, of course). I'll be releasing this new 
python-based mimms 3.0 upstream hopefully tomorrow (or it might be this 
weekend if I get very busy) after I do some testing. The new version has a 
lot of new features from wishlist bugs I've been accumulating, and it's 
also now a lot smaller, simpler, and easier to work with due to being 
implemented in python. 

BTW, if you have any mms:// urls that you'd like to suggest for testing, I'd 
appreciate it. (Unfortunately, my big list of mms:// urls I usually test 
against is getting pretty small, since many of them are old and have 
stopped working.)
