It'd be great to get this fixed or have a crontab or some maintenance
script that cleans this up.

Basically moving and or deleting (which moves the mail to the Trash
folder) items just kept getting slower and slower... over time and the
last few months have been extremely slow... 5+ seconds per message.
I deleted the courierimapkeywords folder and moving emails (to the
trash) is once again instant.
