Package: lighttpd Version: 1.4.19-1 Severity: important I had used lighttpd for some time, but after the last upgrade of the package lighttpd doesn't start anymore in my VPS using Virtuozzo:
Unpacking lighttpd (from .../lighttpd_1.4.19-1_i386.deb) ... Setting up lighttpd (1.4.19-1) ... Starting web server: lighttpd2008-03-28 00:40:34: (network.c.159) socket failed: Address family not supported by protocol failed! invoke-rc.d: initscript lighttpd, action "start" failed. dpkg: error processing lighttpd (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: lighttpd E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) The same problem when I try to start it later: sirio:/# /etc/init.d/lighttpd start Starting web server: lighttpd2008-03-28 00:51:02: (network.c.159) socket failed: Address family not supported by protocol failed! Looking at the source into network.c it seems that the problem has something to do with IPv6 -- it is not supported by Virtuozzo, so maybe this problem makes lighttpd unusable if IPv6 is not supported at all. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.9-023stab044.16-enterprise (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages lighttpd depends on: ii libattr1 1:2.4.41-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libbz2-1.0 1.0.4-4 high-quality block-sorting file co ii libc6 2.7-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfam0 2.7.0-13.1 Client library to control the FAM ii libldap-2.4-2 2.4.7-6.1 OpenLDAP libraries ii libpcre3 7.4-1+lenny1 Perl 5 Compatible Regular Expressi ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8g-7 SSL shared libraries ii libterm-readline-perl- 1.0302-1 Perl implementation of Readline li ii lsb-base 3.1-24 Linux Standard Base 3.1 init scrip ii mime-support 3.40-1.1 MIME files 'mime.types' & 'mailcap ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-11 compression library - runtime lighttpd recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
