No it is correct. You should run "invoke-rc.d ifrename <start|stop|...>"
instead of running the ifrename script directly.

The idea is that hotplug does (or will do) its own renaming, ifrename is
here for the legacy stuff that hotplug doesn't handle yet.
Unless you really feel there is a problem with ifrename, please close
