IMO this is the way to go. If you wish to cheat apt-get on your client,
then you need to modify its configuration there. To get this way of
redundancy, you can follow Alexey's advice (you do not need an own DNS
server, IP mapping in /etc/hosts is enough to make apt-get jump over to
the next server when one of them fails).
I am going to add this hint in the next version of the package.
