Package: alien Version: 8.52 Severity: wishlist Tags: sid Thanks for maintaining alien.
I'm confident that it has contributed to debian's success by making it easier to import packages. It seems to me that importing .tgz files would be even easier if alien used some code from checkinstall, which puts files in proper directories and runs "make install". Thanks!
