Hmm, thanks for the hint, that's a grave bug in libgettext-ruby1.8

liblocale-ruby1.8:
/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/i486-linux/locale.so

libgettext-ruby1.8:
/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/locale.rb
