When I choose the option to connect to a network game, even if the game I'm trying to connect to is on MY own computer, the client waits until it's either recieved a response from the metaserver, or the timeout has occured.
Unfortunetly, this also means that if one's internet is down, but their
running a server on their own subnet with several players, one must wait for the connection to time out.
The reason I'm rating this "important" relates to #309046, because I find
myself hitting "go", THEN finding I crashed the client, then restarting the client, then waiting for a timeout makes the two even more annoying.
