I also suggest we replace "U.S. English" by "American English" for
consistency.

I'm not fond (indeed, I hate) of the US of A calling themselves
"America" but when it comes along with "English" I think that using
the "American" adjective is not that untrue and indeed very common
practice.

I personnally don't really like "US" which implies that USA are the
only "United States" in the world.

Do all this affect your proposed patch (which I haven't looked at yet)?
