Yeah, I can't understand people who assume there is only one hole, and all
pegs will fit in it - but I've been doing software (and making other's
code do things they never foresaw... like re-hosting) for too long to be
surprised at it.

Yeah figured that was the case for this issue.
What about just dropping the patch, and putting a symlink in, pointing
to /etc/ - it seems to be working here ?
