This sounds like a pretty good thing to do, yeah. Unfortunately, I don't
have the time right now to write it up and test it; if someone were to
come up with a patch, that'd be great (otherwise, I'll probably write it
myself at some point, but that might take a while).

I think the best way to go forward would be to have an extra config
file parameter that would get a template. This can again be a
printf-style string, in the same way the exportfile parameter works.
It's probably also best to make sure the virtstyle parameter is
considered for any IP address in the filename.

I don't think using mktemp() or anything similar is a good idea; it
would just move the problem elsewhere.
