Package: midentd Version: 2.3.1-4 Severity: normal When port pair is not in use for any connection, it seems midentd spews some errors to the stream before reporting the status. This is mostly harmless as clients are supposed to ignore wrong input. However, it'd still be nice to work as per the RFC 1413.
Example: $ echo "1,1" | nc localhost auth readline() on closed filehandle PNT at /usr/sbin/midentd line 274. readline() on closed filehandle PNT at /usr/sbin/midentd line 275. 1, 1 : ERROR : NO-USER $ -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages midentd depends on: ii adduser 3.106 add and remove users and groups ii dpkg 1.14.16.6 package maintenance system for Deb ii netbase 4.30 Basic TCP/IP networking system ii update-inetd 4.30 inetd configuration file updater ii xinetd [inet-superserver] 1:2.3.14-5 replacement for inetd with many en midentd recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
