Hi,
This bugreport is a result of my confusion about configuration files.
I described it here:

The /etc/init.d/atieventsd file mentioned in this bugreport is an artifact
left from the drivers directly from ATI. I'd be glad if there would be
a solution for switching back and forth between ATI and Debian fglrx
packages, but for now I have no idea how to solve that. I left to you
what to do with this bugreport - it would be fine for me if you just close
it.
