Package: freecol
Version: 0.7.3-1
Severity: normal

Hello,

the GUI of freecol is painfully slow. This includes moving units and cargo in Europe, displaying dialogs (eg. colony dialog), displaying the foot/wheel/sextant markers while issuing the "goto" command and displaying the green focus marker, which all take several seconds. During that time, top shows excessive amount of context switches (tens of thousands per seconds).

Freecol runs fine on the same machine running windows.

Regards
    Jiri Palecek
