Hi, nameif is not so useful without an init script that does the right thing. The init script and default file provided in #193933 look correct to me (and even works around the renaming problem reported in #225256). I agree with the statement in #203718 that it needs to be started before hotplug since hotplug ifup's stuff too. Looks like all the issues are sorted out and it can be added.
