Well, in this BR they say there's no solution coming from HAL. Maybe
policykit can help you (policykit is available in Debian, if you want to
try). I'm not sure thunar is the best place to configure this anyway.
policykit can't help, because currently the mount options are simply hard-coded.
In my opinion, the best place to configure it is in the kernel. See
http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/3/18/100 and help me to improve this patch, by
addressing the objection about not covering hfs and ncphs filesystems.
Even after fixing the kernel WRT codepage and iocharset, a problem about setting
defaults for other mount options (such as "usefree" and "showexec") remains, but
I don't see any architecturally clean solution (i.e., without code duplication
across backends).
