Thanks for the bugreport. This is fixed in the upstream svn. Upstream should release a new version of numpy soon, so then it will be fixed. If you want to have it fixed earlier, feel free to commit a patch with this into the numpy debian svn (see the Vcs-svn field) and I'll upload a new revision. Add it to debian/patches.
