Hi, It seems that the ltp project does a monthly based release, the latest release being 20080229, while the current version in the Debian archive is 20060918, this release is prior the release of the kernel used in etch. That makes the ltp package quite useless. The package has been removed from testing as it has failed to comply with a release goal (compile with gcc-4.3), and there are even 2 other important bugs in it. I believe upstream has already fixed some of this issues.
