Hi Frans,

please try the following:
Remove your hand written fdi files from /etc/hal
Restart hal
Check if hald-addon-storage is running (should be)
Run hal-disable-polling --device /dev/scd0
The hald-addon-storage process should then be stopped automatically, and
you should have a correct fdi file in /etch/hal/fdi/information.

(this works for me)
