It looks like the problem I have here is the same as was reported with libsensors.
In this case, the new bash-completion package now ships /etc/bash_completion, which was previously (or so I thought) shipped by bash. Since the versionned relationships with the bash I have currently installed were OK, I assumed that bash did not ship it any more, but I can check that it is not the case. I am pretty sure I had not modified this file, and that it is the conffile migration which causes the question to pop up, but I wanted to be sure nevertheless... and the "sdiff" choice blocks with "frontend" eating 95% CPU.
