I'm also unable to open this file with pptview 8.0 (PowerPoint Viewer
97). I suspect it's unable to open files created by recent versions of
PowerPoint. If you find out which version of PowerPoint created this
file, send me a note. I'll keep a list of which versions of PowerPoint
files pptview 8.0 can open.

There's a newer version, PowerPoint Viewer 2003, but I've been unable
to get it to run under wine, so far. I know other people have been
able to though.
