Hmmm... very odd. The "cannot open display" message is kind of odd, because being suid shouldn't change the DISPLAY environment... Anyway, I'm not sure how to help on this one, as I don't have an amd64 install to test with, but I'll see if I can forward this upstream and have any luck there. -- Wesley J.
