I just tried it connecting to mysql schema on a clean install of MySQL server 5.0.51. And I still can't duplicate the error.. Is it possible for you to send me a query that always results in a lockup? Maybe it has something to do with your database? The patch seems to ignore completion waits for some stored procedure requests, or something like that.
