Hi

I encoutered the same problem. Searching for a solution I found this bug.
I was trying to install the realtime-lsm module and I was following the doc in /usr/share/doc/realtime-lsm/README.Debian. At the end, the command given to install the module is
dpkg -i /usr/src/realtime-lsm-module*deb and it produces the "bug".

I rebooted with the preceding kernel (without rebuild for realtime-lsm) and I entered again the command with the whole file name, in my case
dpkg -i /usr/src/realtime-lsm-module-2.6.18_0.8.7-2+custom.1.0.lsm_i386.deb
and it worked.
So if there's a problem it's beetwen 'dpkg' and '*'.

Anyway, I'm not very proud of the name of my module.

Salutations
