Roger,

It is very kind of you to help me with this unrelated configuration
issue.

Yes, that is what I read as well.

Nothing useful when I tried this earlier (both with gs-gpl and gs-esp):

May  8 23:33:31 [EMAIL PROTECTED] cupsd[19058]: StartJob(7, 0x80963c0)
May  8 23:33:31 [EMAIL PROTECTED] cupsd[19058]: StartJob() id = 7, file = 0/1
May 8 23:33:31 [EMAIL PROTECTED] cupsd[19058]: Unable to convert file 0 to
printable format for job 7!
May 8 23:33:31 [EMAIL PROTECTED] cupsd[19058]: Hint: Do you have ESP
Ghostscript installed?
May  8 23:33:31 [EMAIL PROTECTED] cupsd[19058]: CancelJob: id = 7

So I just purged all cups, ijs and foomatic related packages and reinstalled
only the cupsys, cupsys-bsd, cupsys-client, and cupsys-driver-gimpprint
packages along with their dependencies. Configured it as before and it just
worked :-)
