Hello, i just tried to track down the problem more! I changed the "Shadow windows" option from Window decoration in compiz-fusion(sid) from "any" to "Splash | DropdownMenu | PopupMenu | Tooltip | Notification | Combo | Dnd | Unknown"
and started to remove one by one and when i removed the "DowndownMenu" the shadow around by the VLC caused strange beige border disappeared. But the Firefox one stills show a shadow around it. I think that this problem has really something to do with GTK Widgets. Just to clarify, I'm just using compiz to help tracking down the problem and know that its not compiz fault. Because without compiz its still there, just hard to see because of the color. thx in advance llimaa -- Psst!
