Package: locales Version: 2.7-8 Severity: normal Hi my current locale es_CR.UTF-8 lacks 12-hour format definition in LC_TIME. This is needed by the clock applet in gnome-panel to provide the option to allow 12-hour clock format. Reading (1) it is said that the format definition in en_GB could be used instead. AM/PM are the correct ways to specify 12-hour format.
So I edited two lines in /usr/share/i18n/locales/es_CR LC_TIME ... am_pm "<U0041><U004D>";"<U0050><U004D>" t_fmt_ampm "<U0025><U006C><U003A><U0025><U004D><U003A><U0025><U0053><U0020><U0025><U0050><U0020><U0025><U005A>" ... Then regenerated the locales and the problem was fixed. This could also be usefull for other spanish locales. Please consider this change.
