Hi, I can report the same bug, I've found first step of solution: I've tried to copy this part of program as new program and compile it under gtk 2.0. This compilation solves this problem, non-Latin1 characters are displayed as expected. Unfurtunately I am not good C-programmer to migrate whole gtimer to gtk 2.0 :-( I've tried it, but without success.
