Hi, have you checked http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/FreeMind_on_Linux, especially the FAQ and troubleshooting sections?
I suspect that you need to make sure that FreeMind uses Sun's Java 1.5 but the "Abandon" message is strange, never seen it before... Send the result of the troubleshooting steps to [EMAIL PROTECTED], and we'll see further.
