The fact that "it_affix.dat" is missing _IS_ a bug: i think also that the severity of this bug should be raised up, since the Italian dictionary is useless without the affix file. Seems like a new version of the package which fix solve this problem is waiting in the queue. "An affix is a bound morpheme that is joined before, after, or within a root or stem." (http://www.sil.org/linguistics/GlossaryOfLinguisticTerms/WhatIsAnAffixLinguistics.htm) This file contains the affix rules which have to be applied to the new wordlist: it's a new feature shipped with aspell0.60.x and among other things, it makes it possible to reduce the size of wordlists: the size of the .deb for aspell-it-0.53-1.1 was about 12Mb, aspell-it-0.60-1 is less than 800Kb. ciao, Davide
