Package: checkinstall Version: 1.6.1-5 Severity: normal
I last used checkinstall on 2008-01-18 on C-Kermit from ftp.columbia.edu/kermit/test/tar/x.tar.gz with an early release of gcc-4.3. Today when I attempted to run it, both under 2.6.24 and 2.6.23 kernels, checkinstall deleted the /usr/bin/kermit from my previous successful checkinstall run then failed, as if the checkinstall program failed to work in a chrooted environment. If you can suggest any debugging tips I will try them. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24 (SMP w/1 CPU core; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages checkinstall depends on: ii file 4.23-2 Determines file type using "magic" ii findutils 4.2.32-1 utilities for finding files--find, ii libc6 2.7-8 GNU C Library: Shared libraries checkinstall recommends no packages. -- debconf-show failed -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
