  What bug does this fix?  I can see updating to 5, although it doesn't
look like there's much of a benefit, but updating to 6 provides no
benefit for sigc++ that I see and means it can't be backported.

  I don't see the benefit here -- the main change seems to be that it
now runs uupdate, which I don't want to do.  As far as I see from
reading the uscan manpage, none of the changes introduced in version 3
of the watch file format actually affect sigc++, so I'm inclined not to
change this just for the sake of changing it.

  OK, that cruft has been useless for a long time, so removing it makes
sense.
