The exploit code (rather than the hotfix, which I didn't try) caused my laptop to hang (thinkpad x40 tracking sid, one of the standard Debian kernel packages, no non-standard modules, untainted kernel). I would not be suprised if the reworked hotfix had the same bug in it.
