Subject: Please consider adding RAR support by using unrar-free or by creating
a clamav package in non-free
Package: clamav
Version: 0.92~dfsg-1~volatile2
Severity: wishlist

*** Please type your report below this line ***

Due to the missing RAR support in the Debian package of clamav, the
detection rate is far lower than with the upstream version of clamav
(with RAR support enabled). Self-extracting RAR arcives seem to be a
popular format of malware in the windows world.

Please consider using the existing code of unrar-free (as of now,
clamav doesn't seem to use this, even if the "--unrar" switch is used),
to enable RAR support, or consider building a non-free clamav package
with the upstream RAR support enabled.

Yours sincerely,

Torsten Jerzembeck
