Most of them probably have not experieneced the problem. Ubuntu is at
7.4, fedora devel at 7.3.

That limits the problem a lot. (Etch has only a single external rdev to
it.) Is there any reaction by upstream yet?

I am cc ing debian-release to make sure they do not (yet) act on the
rebuild request, followups probably need not go there.
