Package: util-linux Version: 2.12r-19etch1 Severity: important File: cfdisk
Hello, When I am trying to start cfdisk on my Etch system, it complains (apparently without a reason) about an overlapping partition. The only thing I can see odd is the fact that the partition is "out of order" - being the eleventh partition, but being placed the third (as position) on the disk. fdisk doesn't complain at all. Here is cfdisk's message: FATAL ERROR: Bad logical partition 11: enlarged logical partitions overlap Here is the layout: twix:/home/eddy# fdisk -l Disk /dev/hda: 71.6 GB, 71630046720 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 8708 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 * 1 243 1951866 83 Linux /dev/hda2 244 425 1461915 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/hda4 426 8708 66533197+ 5 Extended /dev/hda5 2128 3221 8787523+ 8e Linux LVM /dev/hda6 3222 4315 8787523+ 8e Linux LVM /dev/hda7 4316 5409 8787523+ 8e Linux LVM /dev/hda8 5410 6503 8787523+ 8e Linux LVM /dev/hda9 6504 7597 8787523+ 8e Linux LVM /dev/hda10 7598 8708 8924076 8e Linux LVM /dev/hda11 426 2127 13671252 8e Linux LVM Partition table entries are not in disk order Disk /dev/dm-0: 17.1 GB, 17167286272 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 2087 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes I am not sure if is the same with sid or lenny versions. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (900, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-6-686 Locale: LANG=ro_RO.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ro_RO.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages util-linux depends on: ii lib 2.3.6.ds1-13etch4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii lib 5.5-5 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii lib 2.0.6-4 The S-Lang programming library - r ii lib 1.39+1.40-WIP-2006.11.14+dfsg-2etch1 universally unique id library ii lsb 3.1-23.2etch1 Linux Standard Base 3.1 init scrip ii tzd 2007j-1etch1 Time Zone and Daylight Saving Time ii zli 1:1.2.3-13 compression library - runtime -- Regards, EddyP ============================================= "Imagination is more important than knowledge" A.Einstein -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
