libghc6-x11-dev is just one small piece of a much larger, more
complicated system, and it is necessary to consider the whole system
when making changes to part of it.

I apologise if I am doing you a disservice here, but based on what I've
seen you say you don't seem to have realised that your original proposed
upload would have conflicted with the 1.3.0-1 package that I was testing
while getting 2 dozen packages all working together correctly for the
GHC 6.8.2 update.

Nor do you seem to have realised that your current NMU will break
libghc6-hgl-dev 3.2.0.0-1 - or at least I haven't seen any indication
that you plan to fix it. I'm not sure if there are any other issues to
consider; thinking about that is part of the reason updating packages is
not trivial.

I think users using unstable, and even testing, ought to be able to
install the packages from your homepage if they are desperate for the
latest and greatest. The primary purpose of testing/unstable is to
prepare the packages for the next release. I'm sure we will get
everything sorted out in plenty of time for the next stable release.

I know that, due to other things going on in my life recently, I haven't
been able to spend as much time as I'd like on Debian packaging;
however, by doing random uploads, seemingly without considering all the
consequences, you are just making it harder for me to make sure that
everything gets done and everything works.

Thank you; there is not.

Thanks
Ian
