Hello--

I doubt that the buffering issue is a problem with the client itself.  
It's more likely a problem on the server end.

I wonder, do you still have problems if you use a different last.fm 
client?  i.e.: amarok | last-exit | lastfmproxy | shell-fm | zomg...  

Would you mind trying one of those for a few days and reporting the 
results?
