Hi!

Sorry for the late respond from the package maintainer, but there
wasn't much I could have added to what David as author of the tool
already said.

Does this behavior still happen to you with the version of ldavpi in
unstable/testing (please make sure you got 1.7-4+b1 as version of the
package)? That one is now finally linked against a newer libldap version
- the reasoning behind the delay for that happened didn't lie with me
and I couldn't do much against it, but well, finally it happened.

If this does indeed fix your problem I might be willing to put a
backport of the libldap library to backports too, together with the
already ldapvi hosted there so that stable users can rather painlessly
get to the benefit of this - but like said, please give me some feedback
on that, I don't really have an SSL/TLS ldap database at hand to test it
on my own, left aside your kerberos set up.

 So long,
Rhonda
