Dear Dr Edgar, I am member of the Debian-Med packaging team, that release binary packages of MUSCLE for the Debian operating system. Our archive was recently mass-rebuild with gcc-4.3, and muscle failed to build with the latest snapshot. You can find the error message on our bug report:
