When trying to run claws-mail from bash or KDE 4 the program will load briefly and then disappear. In bash, the following message will appear after the program has crashed: /* Begin Message */ The program 'claws-mail' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
