This looks more like a libtool bug to me. For some reason libtool converts the spaces in it's own commandline into "" for the gcc commandline which lets gcc search for a file with "" as name for compilation. As this doesn't happen on other architectures it's probably a problem in the buildd chroot? Can you reproduce this build failure?
