Would it be possible to: - provide the output of "ifconfig -a", - run snmpd (with "-f") under gdb and provide the stack trace when it dies? There's a known upstream problem documented/discussed on http://www.net-snmp.org/wiki/index.php/5.4.2_open_issues#ipAddressTable_crashes .
