Luca Capello @ 2005-05-05 (Thursday), 14:37 (+0200)Hello!
I use GDM and after having installed ratpoison I found that I don't have an entry in the GDM Session menu, where there are GNOME and Openbox.
So, attached the patch to add a Xsession entry (based on the Openbox one): obviously, the patch modifies also debian/rules to install the Xsession entry.
Please consider for applying,

Great!
I like this idea! Just because ratpoison might require an advanced user to be used it shouldn't mean it should need extra work done just to be used. Once installed it should just work. (And after all its default greeting tells the user how to get help.) (:
My opinion is: please apply to the package! (post sarge) (However my words might, or might not, be of importance)
It seems like packages in general do not use the icon field in the xsession file. Is there a reason behind that? I googled a bit, but didn't find anything. Gnome as one example I think would have a icon, so maybe Debian prefers to always display a swirl instead of the session specific icon?
An issue that has troubled me for a while now is the debian/ directory in upstream cvs. Couldn't that one be either removed, or preferably kept up to date with the official debian/ directory? Several solutions for implementing that are possible, delegating responsibility and giving commit access to krooger is one - setting up a script that automatically commits and debchanges released versions into upstream cvs is another. I could volunteer to write that script if it were to put into live action. -- /Martin
