The first backtrace is too short to be useful, you should type enter to get the following entries. The second crashes when attempting to use the fast rendering. That's weird and probably not fixable in gchemutils. Most probably a driver issue. The only things we can do is to add a command line option or a gconf key to force use the slow rendering. In an ideal world, we might be able to detect the crash, the set the key so that it does not occur anymore later and issue a message to the user to explain the situation. The big issue is that it does not crash on any machine I have access to, so that I can't test.
