I just upgraded from icedove 2.0.0.9-1 to -3. With my old ~/.mozilla-thunderbird directory in place, icedove simply fails to start with no error message whatsoever printed to the command line or system log or anything. I moved the old ~/.mozilla-thunderbird directory out of the way and changed my ~/.xinitrc to simply "exec xterm" (instead of starting gnome) to get a very basic X session and attempt to remove all variables. Running icedove then produced the import wizard; however, it fails to recognize any mouse clicks, on any of the radio buttons or push buttons. Again, no error messages that I have been able to find. I did an "aptitude purge" of enigmail and icedove-gnome-support (the only related packages I knew of that are installed on my system) to no avail. I also did an "aptitude purge icedove ; aptitude install icedove" which did not help either.
