Package: smbfs Version: 3.0.28-1 Severity: important With the upgrade to 3.0.28-1, I am now unable to use any Windows shares mounted from a Windows 2003 Server using DFS. This is because CIFS does not yet fully support DFS and the SMBFS-related scripts that I was using have been replaced with forwarders to CIFS.
When I mount a Windows share from such a server, I am able to see the top-level directories in this share, but if I 'ls' any of these directories, I get another list of the top-level directories. Please consider keeping SMBFS support available until CIFS is able to replace all reasonable uses of SMBFS. As things stand today, I am completely unable to access any Windows shares on my company's network. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers sterling APT policy: (500, 'sterling'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages smbfs depends on: ii libc6 2.7-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii netbase 4.30 Basic TCP/IP networking system ii samba-common 3.0.28-1 Samba common files used by both th smbfs recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- Randy Coulman [EMAIL PROTECTED]
