i can reproduce this with the default config of mouseemu.

brightness and volume most importantly. the eject key isn't
working anyway.

we had no special private conversation with Frank, i just
mentionned the bug to him on irc. at the time i submitted it, i
was not sure which of the two should this bug be filed against.

but now i have another issue, which seem only related to
mouseemu: the [Super]+[Left,Right] combination which is used to
switch between ttys does not work when mouseemu runs.
