For what it's worth, I have made some additional small tweaks to the suggested rewrite of the debian/control file. (Some of them were needed due to changes in library package names necessitated by the gfortran transition.) Due to these tweaks, the line wrapping in debian/control long descriptions may also be different from what you sent me. I plan to upload a new cernlib package, version 2006.dfsg.2-6, to experimental, implementing the gfortran transition for this source package, that also includes the l10n changes. The upload will happen by the end of this week, unless there are unforeseen problems with the package's test suite failing to work when compiled with gfortran.
