Tomas, I looked at fontmatrix with both apt-cache and aptitude and I don't see the problem you mention. Both tools show complete description. You seem to be running a lenny/etch mix, so your aptitude should be version 0.4.10-1, which is what I have under unstable. Please check that and specify exactly how you use aptitude to show information about fontmatrix package that leads to this problem.
